The final match at WTA Doha has been set as Caroline Wozniacki eliminated Vera Zvonareva on Saturday while Kim Clijsters defeated Samantha Stosur in the other semifinal. Wozniacki and Clijsters will now meet for the second time in their careers, their only other encounter being the 2009 US Open final from Flushing Meadows.
Clijsters won that Grand Slam final match and she is favored to beat Wozniacki again on Sunday but the world number 1 surprised some with a win over Zvonareva on Saturday. Should Wozniacki win tomorrow it would be the biggest title of her career as she has never won a Grand Slam title before and the World Championships have to be viewed as more prestigious than the other WTA events.
