The Speedway Grand Prix Championship is a series that always brings plenty of excitement as riders compete in stand alone events to win the World Championship at the end of the season. It began in 1995 but as of the 2008 season all of the Speedway Events were moved to Europe. There are sixteen riders that compete in each of the twenty heats that make up the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Season, and the most recent champion for the title in 2009 was Jason Crump, who is doing quite well this year as well.
As far as the Speedway Grand Prix rankings go it is Jaroslaw Hampel out front with sixty points and Kenneth Bjerre is five points behind him, taking second with 55. Tomasz Gollob is in third right now and he has 54 points while Jason Crump, last year's Champion, has fourth place and 43. Andreas Jonsson has fifth and holding it with 43 points.
